5. I’m on Fire – Bruce Springsteen This moody song was recorded by Springsteen in 1982. It peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 list of pop singles in 1985. “I’m on Fire” was one of seven songs on Springsteen’s incredibly successful Born in the U.S.A. album to be a Top 10 Hit.
4. Great Balls of Fire – Jerry Lee Lewis This song, recorded in 1957, was ranked as the 96th greatest song ever by Rolling Stone. Within the first ten days of being released in the U.S., it sold one million copies, leading to selling more than five million copies. “Great Balls of Fire” was one of the best-selling singles of all times.

We Didn’t Start the Fire – Billy Joel Released in 1989, this song quickly climbed the charts to become a #1 hit in the U.S. The lyrics include about 40 quick-fire (no pun intended) references to political, sports and pop culture events between 1949, the year Billy Joel was born, and 1989, the year the song was released.
2. Set Fire to the Rain – Adele This recently released song (2011) by British sensation Adele peaked at #1 in the U.S., Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia. It was also voted by the readers of Billboard as their favorite hit of 2012.

1. Light my Fire – The Doors This song, released in 1967, is #35 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and is #7 in VH1’s Greatest Songs of All Time. It sold over 1 million copies and was certified “gold” by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1967.
